PROJECT BRIEF

Explore and develop digital content creation techniques and aesthetic skills required to model, texture, and generate accurate materials for 3-D game assets. Through the use of standard 3-D software, students learn methods and procedures to create industry-standard digital content efficiently and accurately. Students create game-ready content in 3-D, utilizing real-world observations and the use of original and existing concept art.

WORK IN PROGRESS

This is the first project where I learned how to low-poly model, UV unwrap, texture with Photoshop and Substance Painter, as well as beginning my journey in Unreal Engine. There were a lot of challenges initially when creating the modular housing unit for this environment.

Initially, I painted the windows in Substance Painter, however, I would have to paint the windows to line up for each flat and rounded building corner.

The stucco material was not a seamless texture between objects as well. I then settled to remodel each housing piece by having its own windows and walls.

With the foliage brush in Unreal Engine, I modeled 3 low-poly buildings and painted them around the main street.
